History

In 1989 Managing Director, Matt Rowling, firmly believed that an opportunity existed to supply specialist surveying services to the construction industry.

With some modest equipment, but with a whole lot of vision, ESO was born. As time passed it became evident that construction contractors valued a survey company that was focussed on their specific requirements.

ESO opened its first shop-front office in the busy beachside suburb of Harbord, on Sydney's Northern Beaches, in 1995.

In 2000 ESO acquired the firm of Consurv Pty Ltd, retaining its Managing Director, Campbell Blogg, as the General Manager. The acquisition allowed ESO to expand its services to include land subdivision, strata plans and high-rise construction survey.

In September 2001 ESO moved its Head Office a free-standing industrial building, also in Harbord. The building had been used for manufacturing purposes, but was soon converted into comfortable air-conditioned offices.

As a result of our involvement in the Pacific Highway upgrade, ESO developed an interest in the NSW Mid North Coast region. In January 2003 ESO opened the doors of its first branch office in the beachside village of Old Bar. This office provided consultancy services to the local area successfully for four years.

ESO expanded its activities into Queensland in November 2005 when we opened the doors of our Brisbane branch office in Northgate. This office is now engaged on many major building sites and infrastructure projects around Brisbane.

Our Head Office moved again in 2006 (around the corner!). This more suitable space provides modern facilities to our management and administrative staff.

Now

ESO is now focussed on its core business which is providing survey to construction sites.

Our company is divided into three separate operational divisions each headed by its own experienced Manager. The three divisions now generate over $5 million in sales every year.

We are continually focussed on keeping up to date with the technological advancements prevalent in our profession. ESO now owns and operates Static and Roving GPS systems, Robotic Total Stations and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

ESO is focussed on enhancing our employees’ skills through continual training in software, management techniques and safety. We actively encourage our staff, through reward programmes, to complete tertiary studies in surveying and related fields.

Forward

The professional way we run our business and our dedication to our staff's safety on work sites is represented by our independently certified quality and safety systems.

Using almost twenty years of experience and expertise, ESO has been able to establish quality and safety systems which provide the foundations for the next phase of growth.

In the years ahead, ESO will be dedicated to providing the best possible service for our clients whilst "setting the bar" ever higher for our competitors. Our staff will continue to be highly trained and fully supported by management.

Our goal is to assist the development of infrastructure in this country and to lend our skills and experience to the offshore market.
